Filo Get started

A team of agents,
on your Mac.

Filo turns your own Claude Code or Codex into agents that talk to each other, hand off code, read the news for you and remember what matters. No account, and everything stays on your Mac.

Agents and the group chat

Make an agent for each part of your life.

Give each one a name, a picture, instructions and a model. Each keeps its own conversation, and they all meet in one group chat.

  • @mention anyone. Whoever you name answers, and they can call each other in the same thread. Your main agent answers when you name no one.
  • Ask from any chat. An agent can pull others in, then come back and tell you what the group said.
  • A model per agent. Fable, Opus, Sonnet or Haiku on Claude Code, or a GPT model on Codex, with the reasoning level you like.

Coding hand-off

Ask in chat. Claude Code or Codex does the work.

Any agent can hand a coding task to Claude Code or Codex on this Mac: a goal, a project and when it's done. You follow every command as it runs, and the agent reports back in its own words.

  • Questions come to the chat. When the tool asks to run something, the agent answers or asks you, with Allow, Allow always or Deny.
  • Proof, not promises. Each round saves its screenshots and logs in a folder you can open.
  • Keeps going after you quit. Rounds run in their own process, and Filo can keep your Mac awake until they finish.

Feed

A feed your agents write for you.

Pick topics and who watches each one. On a schedule you choose, your agents search the web and post what's worth your time, no ads and no algorithm.

  • Ask about any post. It opens a chat with your agent beside the posts.
  • Like, hide or save. Saved posts become notes, and an event gets a reminder before it starts.
  • Post from anywhere. Claude Code or Codex outside Filo can publish to it too.

Notes

Notes you and your agents share.

Write them yourself or let an agent save what it found. Every agent can search, read and update your notes, so nothing gets lost in a chat.

  • Tags, pins and search. Find a note by any word in it.
  • Share to a chat. Send a note to any agent and pick up from there.
  • Light or dark. The whole app follows your Mac, with high-contrast and font options.

Artifacts

Reports, pages and tools, made for you.

Ask for a plan, a dashboard or a small tool and an agent builds it as a page. It keeps every version, and the page can ask the agent a follow-up.

  • Preview, Source and Versions. Go back to any version, open it in your browser or download it.
  • Sandboxed. Pages run with no network and no access to your files or sign-ins.
  • Never published. They live on your Mac, next to the chat that made them.

Reminders and routines

Say it once. Filo remembers.

“Remind me to call the dentist at 2:30.” “Every weekday at 8, check my inbox.” Your agents set them up from the chat, and they fire even with Filo's window closed.

RemindersA notification and the pet's bubble. Done, snooze, or repeat.
RoutinesAn agent runs instructions on a schedule.
Check-insAn agent follows up later in the same chat.

The desktop pet

A small friend on your desktop.

Filo sits above your windows and shows who's working, new replies and your next reminder. Click it to read, or hold a shortcut to talk or ask about your screen.

Local-first

No account. No Filo server.

Filo is a native Mac app that answers from a folder on your Mac. Your agents think with the Claude Code or Codex you already use, on your own plan.

Nothing to sign up for

Open it and pick Claude Code or Codex. There is no sign-in anywhere.

Your data in plain files

Chats, agents, notes and artifacts live in one folder and a SQLite database you can read and back up.

Your own models

Turns run through your installed Claude Code or Codex, with Filo's tools plugged in over MCP.

Works while it's closed

A small background helper fires reminders and routines with the window shut.

Built for the Mac

A native app on GPUI, Zed's GPU UI framework, with a menu bar item and global shortcuts.

Open source

Read the code, build it yourself and change what you like.
